La vid means the vine. We teach Spanish the way a vine grows — slowly, deeply, and with something to hold onto. Small classes, native-speaking teachers, and a curriculum built for real conversation.
Both of our instructors were born and raised in Cartagena, Colombia. Students hear real Spanish — rhythm, idiom, and culture — not a recording.
Classes stay small on purpose. Every student speaks out loud in every session, because a language you never say out loud never sticks.

Jorge Restrepo & Rafaela Pajaro
Teacher & Curriculum Director · Cartagena, Colombia
Jorge holds a degree in Modern Languages Education (Spanish–French) from the University of Caldas and earned his Colorado Education Professional License through Metropolitan State University of Denver's T.R.I. program. He spent twenty years with Denver Public Schools and teaches Spanish at Centennial School for Expeditionary Learning. He writes the curriculum every La Vid class is built on.
Co-Founder, Director & Instructor · Cartagena, Colombia
Rafaela co-founded La Vid in 2013. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and is certified by the Colorado Department of Education as a bilingual substitute teacher. She began teaching in 2004 at an international language institute and went on to found Little Lambs of Jesus, a Christian bilingual daycare program. She runs the day-to-day life of the institute and teaches the youngest groups.
